Lori Deutsch, a graduate of Prescott College, is currently the Executive Director of Youth Count, Prescott Valley. Ms. Deutsch was also the Program Manager of Yavapai County Community Health Services in Prescott, Arizona. Gerry Garvey began her position as Program Director at Open Inn, Turning Point in June 2007 after serving as the HIV/AIDS Program Manager for Yavapai County
Community Health Services. She has over 25 years experience in Health and Human services as an administrator and a local and international activist with the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom. For 15 years, Ms. Garvey directed Health Clinics in Boston and San Diego. She also opened and directed shelters and community education programs, including opening a shelter for runaway youth on Cape Cod and opening and/or directing three Rape Crisis/ Domestic violence shelter programs in Massachusetts. She holds a Masters of Science in Management from Lesley College. She has lived and worked in the Prescott area for the last 6 years and is a member of the Board of Directors of People Who Care, and The United Ways/ Yavapai Foundations Community Impact Advisory Council.
![]() Maggie Garvey has been involved in social service and justice work since her days at Simmons College where she worked to get the governor of Massachusetts, Duval Patrick, into office. Ms. Garvey currently supervises the Yavapai County VISTA Project (YCVP) in Prescott Valley. ![]() Abigail Jensen is a graduate of Stanford University and the University of California, Berkeley School of Law. She was first admitted to the practice of law in the State of Washington in 1982 and has been a member of the bar in Arizona since 1998. In addition to her service on the PAWS Board, Ms. Jensen is President and a member of the Board of Directors of Qsquared Youth, a support, education and advocacy organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth, and their straight allies, in Yavapai County. ![]() Carla Roberts is a realtor in Prescott. She was the 2007-2008 president of Soroptimist International Inc. of Prescott. She has been a leader since the beginning of PAWS. ![]() David Stringer, a graduate of George Washington University and the University of Baltimore School of Law. He has practiced law for over 20 years, and prior to this served as Senate Intern in the Office of United States Senator Ernest Gruening (D. AK). He is currently member of the Board of Directors of the Arizona Hotel and Lodging Association and an advisory member of the Choice Hotel International Owner's Council. He has owned a home in Prescott since 2004 and is active in business and civic affairs. ![]() Patricia Brockert is a retired court reporter and life-long resident of Arizona. She has volunteered with the Assistance League of Yuma revamping their thrift shop, and Operation Schoolbell providing clothes for needy school children. She has also been an active volunteer at PAWS since 2008. Patricia comes in every Monday to do laundry, cleaning, and some meal providing. She was also one of the key event planners for the First Annual PAWS Winter Fundraiser. Patricia will continue to focus on fundraising efforts for the shelter through her new position on the PAWS board. |
